What is SFA open bore piling?

SFA, or sectional flight auger piling, is a piling technique in which an auger is used to drill into the ground, followed by the installation of concrete and reinforced steel cages to create a strong foundation, known as a ‘pile’.  

Sectional flight auger piling is a method that is often used in areas of unobstructed ground, where the ground is unstable, or where space or height is restricted.  There is a range of open bore diameters, with 300mm SFA open bore being our most utilised.
