What is SCD piling?

SCD, steel cased driving piling (also known as bottom driven piling) is a piling method which uses a vibrating mole or drop hammer rig to drive steel casings into the ground. Concrete is then installed to create stable foundations.

The method of steel cased piling is generally used in situations where the ground is unstable, gravelly, contaminated, or in areas where the water tables are high; the steel tubes protect the piles from water damage.
